Map Decorations are objects that add detail to the Jailbreak map, most of which does not serve a practical purpose to the game. Examples are trees, signs, and billboards. Some of them change colors depending on the time of the year.
Many of the map decorations can be knocked by using a vehicle. Players can receive contracts that require them to knock a randomized number of decorations.

American flags can be seen on some buildings in the game. They are used to signify that the setting in Jailbreak is located in the USA. Currently, there are seven flags located across the map: at the Prison Yard, Police Stations, Rising City Bank, the tallest building in the Rising City, and the Military Base. These flags cannot be climbed, except for the one at the Military Base.
A minor location that serves no in-game purpose besides being the spawn location of a Model 3 and a Roadster. It is located in the City, near the Rising City Bank. The chargers can be knocked over by using vehicles.
Located next to the Concept's spawn point is a basketball court with a small brownish-orange ball inside it. The ball can be moved around but cannot be shot into the hoop. The court does not hold any significant role.
Bridges connect roads at both sides of the rivers and ocean.
Buildings are generic, inaccessible buildings that serve as filler to make Jailbreak feel more realistic. They can be found at the City. Buildings usually have a one-color palette and windows which light up at night one-by-one. The Radio Station (where formerly took the place of the Museum) was one of these buildings. They have changed their appearances throughout many updates, such as in the 2B Visits Update and in the April 2020 Live Update. In the Crew Battles update some buildings in the Rising City change colour depending on what the top crew's colour is.
Buoys were added in the April 2020 Live Update. They can be seen on the ocean and are used to mark the map border.
Cacti were added as decorations in the new map expansion and in the Military Base. They are technically the desert version of trees. They do not cause harm if players touch them.
Over the edge of the Jailbreak map, they can be seen sailing across the map. This used to lead to speculations that a ship robbery was to be added along with a purchasable sailboat - both turned out to be true (the Cargo Ship robbery and the Sloop. As of now, the silhouettes are still present. If a player manages to go outside the map boundaries without dying, they appear as 2D from the side.
They appear as generic orange traffic cones.
Non-collectable metallic crates can be seen on the crate unloading spot at the Crime Port. They have the exact same model as the heist collectibles from the Cargo Plane and can be knocked down by using vehicles.
Similar to crates, these large metal shipping can be seen at the Crime Port, but also at both Criminal Bases. They have the exact same model as the heist collectibles from the Cargo Ship; however, they cannot be collected.
The docks are made of wooden planks and can been seen at several places in the map:
The docks previously served no purpose, but some of which are currently used as the spawn points of the Jet Ski or the Cruiser. A few docks provide customization for land and water vehicles, similar to how Customization Garages function. The dock at the Beach Town provides the Trading Ship, which is the only method of transportation to the Trade Island from the Jailbreak Mainland for players without the Trading VIP gamepass.
Helipads can be seen on top of the building in front of the Jewelry Store and on top of the highest building in the City. More are seen on top of other buildings, such as the 1M Dealership, the Rising City Bank, the Rising City Police Station and the Prison Police Station which serve as spawn points for aerial vehicles. Another one is located on the Rising City Garage, which serves as a place to customize aerial vehicles. There is also 2 at the Military Base.
Similar to buildings, there are houses that cannot be entered, which can be seen at the Town and in the expansion area near the Power Plant. Originally, the houses had interiors, which were removed in a later update. In the Town Revamp Update, the houses were revamped and some of them were given an interior. As of the Crews Update, players can now rent some of the houses while this was removed in the Dream Homes update and replaced by one house which you can buy and claim.
Added in the Crew Battles Update, they are destructible and "help new players get around". These signs appear all throughout the map and mark important locations, such as the Mountainside Town, Rising City, etc.
Added in the Blade Update, they are small light sources that are scattered around the map. A few locations where they can be seen are:
| |
Mailboxes are in front of all houses found in the Town and currently have no purpose whatsoever. They can be knocked down by using vehicles.
They appear as black monitors with blue screens, along with a keyboard and a mouse. Players cannot interact with them. The monitors are typically accompanied with a white office desk and a light blue chair which can be sit on. The monitors can been seen in the Police Stations, the Police HQ, and in one of the floor variants of the Jewelry Store. They are also purchasable furniture for Houses & Apartments.
The ocean borders the edge of the map of Jailbreak. It is simply a texture for the out-of-boundaries area and cannot be interacted with. If a player gets outside the map barriers, they will slowly lose health, leading to eventual death.
Picnic tables are found in the Prison near the "Do not punch!" power box. Despite not serving much function, they can be used for the seating glitch, which allows users to be invincible to arrests as long as they are sitting.
There was originally only one group of these in Jailbreak, but as of the City/Weapons Update, more were added, including:
| |
The Radio Array is located at the Cactus Valley, located between the Crater City and the Military Base. Another radio is located near the revamped Mountainside Town. The Radio Array is composed of three dish-like structures, with a red center that emits light which can be seen during the night. The light colours changes depending on the season/update theme.
Located in front of the Museum, it it the highest structure in-game. It used to serve as the spawn points of the Binoculars and the Flashlight.
Road lines can be found on any road that is two or more lanes. There are different types of lines, including:
Some roads have no lines, meaning that they only have one lane.
Added in the Cybertruck Update, realistic grass (a feature by Roblox) is the most common map decoration on the Jailbreak map. Almost every area that once had the standard grass material has been covered with the new grass.
Shortcut roads can been seen throughout the map. They serve as off-road paths, which mainly are made out of dirt, and can be used to get to places more quickly. This works very well with off-road vehicles, such as the Surus, Raptor, and the Jeep.
These can be found on both sides of roads in Jailbreak. A couple of sidewalks on the map - notably in the City - have trees in the middle of them.
Four stop signs are located in the Rising City at the intersection near the Rising City Bank. More can also be found at the entrance/exit to the Train Station's parking lot and at any railroad crossing. The stop signs do not have any "STOP" text, appearing instead as simple red octagons. Prior to the Fall 2018 Update, they were hexagons.
Street lights are the most common decorations in Jailbreak. Like in real life, street lights light up in dark areas and at night. They can be knocked down by using a vehicle. They were non-collidable prior to the Melee Update.
Torches can be found in the Tomb and the Tomb's exit mineshafts. Similar to lanterns, they illuminate the area around.
A tower crane can be seen linking between the green building next to the Jewelry Store and the former location of the Police HQ, which serves as a possible getaway route when criminals finish robbing the Jewelry Store. There is also a crane at the Crime Port and behind the Prison.
They serve as the routes of the Cargo Train and Passenger Train.
Trash cans can be seen at several places, such as the Prison's cafeteria, Donut Shop and the Gas Station. Some of them can be knocked down by using vehicles.
These are the second most common decorations in the game, behind street lights. Players can find these at any intersection, except one in the City that has stop signs. Traffic lights in Jailbreak can be knocked over by vehicles. They do not function and do not light up at night.
There are approximately 327 trees that appear around the map, most of them appear to be a small wooden trunk with a green mesh on top. The green mesh does not have a collision box, meaning players can pass through them. All trees can be knocked down by using vehicles. In the Desert/Dunes and a few other places, palm trees can be seen, which can also be knocked down. In the Town Revamp Update, pine trees were also added, one in the Prison and a few of them in the Mountainside Town.
Typically found on Beaches. Umbrellas are non-collidable, but they can be knocked down by using a vehicle.
Players cannot interact with them. However, two variations of the vending machines can be purchased and placed in Houses & Apartments, which will give players a Donut and an Energy Drink if interacted with.
Jailbreak currently has 1 volcano:
Both of the volcanoes appear to be active and constantly spew lava in the air. Falling down into them results in the players' death. If the player falls into the volcano located at the Volcano Criminal Base, a mini eruption occurs alongside an easter egg.
Waterfalls were added to Jailbreak upon release and has been there ever since. As of now, there are a total of seven waterfalls:
There used to be a waterfall at the former Stallion spawn. It was removed due to the map being expanded.
When Jet Skis were added, a number of water toys to the waters, such as beach balls, sticks, and racing tracks.
Located near the Volcano Criminal Base and the Mountainside Town, the Water Tower changes color depending on the time of the year. It has also changed location a few times. As of the June 2023 Prison Revamp Update, there is a second water tower behind the prison.
There are a total of eleven wind turbines in-game:
They only serve as decorations, but Badimo typically uses them to test server lag. |

Ponds were areas filled with water. They could be seen near the front gate of the Prison and near the Town. One of them included a tree at the center of it. They were removed in an unknown update possibly the April 2022 Live event. The one outside the prison was readded in the Crew Battles update while their is a lake in the Cactus Valley expansion where the crater made by the giant meteor was.

Ramps
Ramps are a feature in the Jailbreak map that was added in the Ramps Update. They are scattered across the map, placed in locations ideal for jumping over fences or gaps. Their main purpose is launching vehicles in the air when players drive off them, allowing for quicker access to different locations. The best vehicles to use on ramps would be ones with a quick acceleration and high top speed.
Water vehicle ramps are almost identical to land vehicle ramps except that these are more intended for boats to jump off them and are only colored blue. They were added in the Jet Ski & Power Plant Robbery update on June 8th, 2019.
- Ramps were a requested feature from when Jailbreak came out until they were added.
- There are currently 19 ramps in the game.
