Rocket Fuel, also called Nitro, is a feature added in the Rocket Fuel Update.

Overview

Rocket Fuel is used to make vehicles accelerate faster, fly off ramps, or escape from enemy players. Players can get 10 Rocket Fuel daily, but users with the VIP Gamepass get 100 per day. While driving, they can press "Q" or the button with the flame to use the Rocket Fuel. The vehicle gives off a purple-blue flame at the rear and makes a thruster noise when activated.

Every time a player enters a land vehicle, a bar near the bottom of the screen will show how much fuel they have. First-time players receive 60 Rocket Fuel when they first join the game. Players can purchase Rocket Fuel with Robux at either the Gas Station or Mountainside Town Gas Station, or if they have the Premium Garage Gamepass, they can buy Rocket Fuel anywhere. Players also have a small chance to get 20 Rocket Fuel as a Robbery Bonus Reward after completing any robbery with the exception of The Mansion.

Upon equipping the Jetpack, no Rocket Fuel bar (if previously purchased) will appear, however, when the player starts flying with the Jetpack, a small bar at the bottom of the player's screen will appear, and will slowly drain out. However, Rocket Fuel is much more efficient for the Jetpack.

Costs

  • 50 Rocket Fuel: GoldenRobux 23
  • 100 Rocket Fuel: GoldenRobux 49
  • 250 Rocket Fuel: GoldenRobux 99
  • Jetpack Rocket Fuel: GoldenRobux 25 (Removed in the Apocalypse Update: Part 2)

Refueling Locations

There are only two locations to refuel, and a method to refuel on-the-go. The first location is the Gas Station, and the second one is the Mountainside Town Gas Station. The only method to refuel without going to either location is to press the Rocket Fuel bar or press "Q" when a player runs out of fuel, but that requires the Premium Garage Gamepass.

For the Jetpack, the player can refuel on Rocket Fuel every time they run out, touch the ground, and purchase it. No specific location is required for Jetpack-refueling.

Using Rocket Fuel

Players can avoid wasting Rocket Fuel and save tons of Robux used to purchase Rocket Fuel. Here are some ways players can save Rocket Fuel and more importantly, their Robux.

Vehicles

  • Players are encouraged to try to only use Rocket Fuel for getting to destinations faster and escaping Police instead of showing off their wealth on Roblox. Try to only use it when you really need, not just to look cool. Use your Rocket Fuel wisely and sparingly.
  • Players are encouraged to try to purchase the VIP Gamepass because it gives players 100 daily Rocket Fuel, unlike a player without it, who would only get 10.
  • Unless the player has Roblox Premium, have VIP, or are very wealthy, players are encouraged to try not to overuse their Rocket Fuel.
  • Rocket Fuel only costs Robux, and cannot be obtained with Jailbreak cash.
  • Players are encouraged to treat Rocket Fuel as a speed boost for their vehicles. No matter what engine level players have on their vehicle, it will still boost their vehicle's speed as long as it's active; use it wisely. For example, use Rocket Fuel to boost your car to get away from enemies running to eject or kill you, as it increases launch speed.
  • Faster vehicles have a much greater effect on the Rocket Fuel boost due to them already moving at a fast pace, saving Rocket Fuel.
  • If you are planning to buy 100 Rocket Fuel, it is cheaper to buy two 50 rocket fuel packs.

Jetpack

  • It would be recommended to try to avoid using Jetpack Rocket Fuel whenever possible, as it costs Robux for each refuel and. Additionally, vehicle Rocket Fuel does not carry over to Jetpack Rocket Fuel.
  • Unless you're willing to spend GoldenRobux 25 to refuel Jetpack Rocket Fuel, it's highly recommended to stick to the normal Jetpack fuel, as it is free and both serve the same purpose. Normal Jetpack fuel drains your fuel tank quicker and cannot let you fly as high if you used Rocket Fuel.
  • While Rocket Fuel makes escaping from Police easier, keep in mind the time it takes to purchase may put you at risk of getting captured.

Trivia

  • In the 1B Visits Update, every player began to receive free Rocket Fuel every day, so players didn't have to buy it or purchase the VIP Gamepass, due to popular demand and criticism of Rocket Fuel being a developer's product.
  • Before the August 2018 Update, there was a way to get infinite Rocket Fuel. To do it, you had to get a keycard and a land vehicle (not the open vehicles like the Volt). Once you obtained both, press "E" on the "Enter Driver" circle and the number where the keycard is located in. For example, if the keycard is the first item in your inventory, press "1" and "E" for the vehicle at the same time. You will know you have done the glitch if the Rocket Fuel bar on the right is gone. It would say that you would be out of Rocket Fuel, but you would still have some left.
    • This was for laptop/PC users only.
  • On the bottom of the player's screen is always a bar that shows how much fuel they have. The bar will only appear if they enter the driver seat of a land vehicle.
  • Before the 1B Visits Update, the bar was labeled "Nitro", but it is now is properly labeled "Rocket Fuel, Press 'Q'".
  • The Rocket Fuel brand is called Space Z, a reference to Elon Musk‘s company "SpaceX.
  • After the update of the Rocket Fuel, Badimo nerfed the full tank from 500 to 250.
    • The Rocket Fuel also drained slower.
  • In the 1 Year Update, the amount of Rocket Fuel players with the VIP Gamepass get daily was increased from 50 fuel to 100 fuel.
  • If players don't use too much of their daily Rocket Fuel, they could reach 250 fuel without paying Robux since their fuel will increase every day if they don't use all their fuel. However, at 10 fuel per day, it will take players 25 days to get a full tank, but will take only 3 for VIP owners.
    • One of the tooltips says that players get 20 free Rocket Fuel daily, but they actually receive 10.
  • asimo3089 has confirmed that at a point, Black Hawk missiles were going to be powered by Rocket Fuel. However, there is no Rocket Fuel bar.
  • Players cannot use Rocket Fuel on aerial vehicles.
  • Rocket Fuel has been given a visual buff in the Season 3 update.
  • Jetpacks do not get a daily amount of Rocket Fuel everyday, no matter what gamepasses a player owns. Jetpack Rocket Fuel can only be filled by purchasing it with Robux.
  • A reason why Badimo added Rocket Fuel are big fans of Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla. That's why Rocket Fuel is shown on the Model 3.
  • Another method to obtain Rocket Fuel is reaching certain levels in Seasons, e.g achieving level 10 in Season 4 will award you a full tank of Rocket Fuel. Level 2 in Season 3: Looking Back fills up a player's Rocket Fuel tank.
  • Rocket Fuel boosts acceleration and top speed by a slight amount.
  • Prior to the Nukes update, the Rocket Fuel bar was on the right side of the screen.
  • A glitch could've be performed using Rocket Fuel with the Pickup. In some circumstances when the Pickup travels in a straight line and the driver uses Rocket Fuel, the truck will point upwards and fly into the air.
    • This was patched in an August 2020 Miscellaneous Update.
  • The rocket trail from the rockets of the Rocket Launcher still uses the old particles.
  • The first appearance of the new Rocket Fuel particle appeared on the Drop Bombs, but another color was used.
  • After the Nukes Update, Rocket Fuel drains a little faster.
  • The Dirtbike, Patrol and Dune Buggy cannot fly with Rocket Fuel.
    • As of 5 Days of Vehicles 2023 Event, this is changed.
  • If Robux translates to Jailbreak cash the Rocket Fuel would cost using the least amount of JB Cash that Robux can buy:
    • ~Cash Icon1,456 for the 50 Rocket Fuel.
    • ~Cash Icon3,102 for the 100 Rocket Fuel.
    • ~Cash Icon6,266 for the 250 Rocket Fuel.
